Preparation of college applications needs guidance, but is not difficult. Students can do much of the initial preparatory work themselves.
This guide will break the preparation up into small and easily completed sessions. By having much of the initial work done, the efforts of the Guidance Department can focus on the more technical aspects of the applications.
The sessions are sequential in nature and each should be completed before going to the next. Students completing all sessions will be able to more effectively assist the counselors in the Guidance Department as well as find the university best suited to the student's needs.
Session titles are:
I - Problem? Too much information
II - Factors to consider when choosing a college
III - Factors to consider when choosing a college (pt. 2)
IV - How to find out about colleges
V - Organizing the information
VI - Important ingredients in the application
VII - Guidelines: Teacher/Counselor Recommendations
VIII - What about extra-curricular activities
IX - Applications
X - Writing the Essay
